The Island in Pigeon Forge was the perfect spot for this surprise proposal. Matt and Bailey live in Florida and drove up the day of the proposal for the surprise. I had been talking to Matt planning for a little while, and I was just as excited as he was for the big moment! It was an event filled with love and excitement for the future. I’m so glad I was there to capture the incredible moment.
The Surprise Proposal at Island of Pigeon Forge
After a long day of driving they were both tired. But instead of taking a nap after their long drive that same day, Matt told Bailey that they needed to get over to the island in Pigeon Forge. Saying they couldn’t miss their wheel reservation. He may have told a little bit of a white lie to get her there, saying they couldn’t’ miss the time because it was expensive! Matt was getting really anxious about keeping the surprise any longer, and that she would figure it out.
When they arrived he got nervous because there was a sign with the pricing and it wasn’t expensive at all! But Bailey didn’t even notice, probably from being tired from the long drive up. From there they made their way up the ramp and BAM, he got down on one knee and popped the question.
It was so romantic and just beautiful. They went up to the wheel to bask in the moment while admiring the sunset. I was being sneaky following behind them in the car behind them. After, we had a blast walking around the island of Pigeon Forge capturing the last bit of light. Later, they headed off to celebrate and enjoy the rest of their big day together as a newly engaged couple.
Proposals
Surprise proposals are always one of my favorites to capture. I’m able to be there in the beginning of all their big changes. I’m able to get to know the couple and be there while they take on the next chapter together before their big day! Surprise proposals like this one are always fun because it feels like a big secret, that I get to be in on. It’s the best.
